Dooks Golf Club

What we say
Aside from the big name, big money superstars, Dooks Golf Club is one of the best golf courses in Ireland.
One of the great unsung links courses of Ireland, Dooks is located between the triumvirate of Waterville, Tralee and Ballybunion.

It promises the most dramatic views across the MacGillycuddy’s Reeks, the Dingle Peninsula and Castlemaine Harbour, but views are only part of the charms of this tranquil course.
RELATED: Tralee Golf Club review
Dooks was a nine-hole course in 1889 and after becoming an 18-holer in 1970, 30 years later Martin Hawtree was invited to further improve the course.
In 2006 his tweaks were complete and Dooks now has 16 redesigned holes on one of the three stretches of sand dunes at the head of Dingle Bay with gorse, heather and wild flowers making this an aesthetically pleasing text of your game.

Short it may be (6,000 yards), but holes are cleverly routed to vary the challenges, and the elephant-sized (and sometimes shaped) dunes add a certain mystique.
Dook is another fun Irish links that offers challenge, interest and scenery.

dooks is a great course with great views of the glorious co kerry scenery....revamped recently with i think 18 new greens and alot of new holes..much longer now but with the bigger greens is has not lost its fairness...if it wasn't for the fact that waterville, ballybunion and tralee are so close, this course is slightly overshadowed by its nieghbours....don't miss it if you visit kerry for a golf holiday.....good tough links course and when the wind blows you'd better watch out
