Titleist T100S (2021) Iron Review

One of four golf irons in the revamped T-Series range for 2021, the Titleist T100S iron is a forged model aimed at better golfers seeking more distance.

Two degrees stronger lofted than the T100, the T100S is Titleist’s “faster tour iron”. Almost identical in styling (you’d struggle to tell them apart at address), the forged S is designed to look and feel like a tour iron while giving you extra yards. As with the other models in the T-Series, the T100S has been built around three key Ds – Distance, Dispersion and Descent Angle. 

Created to the same dimensions as the T100, the T100S uses more dense D18 tungsten weights and the same 2000º brazing process used in aerospace construction which helps to eliminate weld points and create an even more precise CG placement for improved MOI.

 

The new face features a continuous cradle construction that creates a seamless striking surface and more uniform leading edge. The 4i-7i faces were redesigned to provide slightly more spin for improved shot-shaping and stopping power.

Titleist say the new variable bounce design is their “best-feeling ever” with less bounce on the heel and more on the toe for improved turf interaction and feel.

 

The T100S only differs from the T100 in loft and with the addition of a new muscle channel, which helps increase ball speed.

Weight savings from the Muscle Channel are shifted to produce even lower CG and better launch.

 

We love the new brushed chrome finish, which ensures glare will never be a problem.

The T100S is joined in the T-Series by the T100, T200 and T300.

The T100 is Titleist’s fully forged dual cavity players’ iron and the most played on tour. The T200 is a players’ distance iron, Titleist’s most advanced ever, and represents the biggest shift within the series, combining sleek looks with impressive distance. 

The T300 is Titleist’s ultimate game-improvement iron, the cavity-back model designed to be high, long and forgiving, using 40 per cent more tungsten than its predecessor.

Titleist T100S iron review: The tech

T100S is everything the world’s best players love about T100, only more. It provides fully forged feel, tour shaping, more versatile sole design and precise flighting – with two-degree stronger lofts and a new Muscle Channel – produce better ball speed and launch while preserving precise touch and control.

T100 but faster: The new T100S dimensions exactly match the Tour-informed specs of T100. They are designed – not bent – two-degrees stronger with a fully forged face, backed by an innovative Muscle Channel that adds to both speed and launch. At impact, they feel amazingly similar to T100. The only difference is added distance.

Titleist T100S iron review: Shafts and Grips

 The stock steel shaft is the Project X LZ with Loading Zone Technology. It allows the player to load the shaft more for increased energy transfer while also getting a unique feel and gives a low launch with low spin.

The stock graphite shaft is the MCA Tensei White AM2 with Ascending Mass Technology – 2g per club (94-108g). It provides low launch and low spin.

The stock grip is the Golf Pride Tour Velvet 360 with white paint fill and black flat cap.
