What’s In The Bag: Allisen Corpuz

Today’s Golfer dives in to take a look at what’s in the bag of the 2023 US Women’s Open Champion – Allisen Corpuz

Jump To: Corpuz’s WITB

Allisen Corpuz has had a very enjoyable second year on the LPGA Tour. Corpuz won the 2023 US Women’s Open in July and she represented Team USA at the Solheim Cup in Spain.

Today's Golfer What's In The Bag is brought to you in association with Callaway Chrome Tour and Chrome Tour X golf balls.

Corpuz had a very mixed rookie season with a few top 10 finishes mixed in with some missed cuts. In 2023, she found much more consistency in her game, and her hard work paid off when she powered to victory at this year’s US Women’s Open, beating Charley Hull by three shots.

Allisen Corpuz is the 2023 US Women's Open Champion

The Hawaiian-born golfer has been awarded for her solid performances with a spot on the USA Solheim Cup team, where she was one of five rookies. Being a part of this year’s team won’t have been much of a surprise for the World No.8 golfer.

The 25-year-old is sponsored by Ping, so there are no points for guessing what brand features throughout her bag. While we know what brand her golf equipment is, let’s take a look at the models Corpuz is using in 2023.

What’s In The Bag: Allisen Corpuz

What driver does Allisen Corpuz use?

Allisen Corpuz uses a <meta charset="utf-8">Ping G430 LST Driver (9°) with a Diamana ST 50 Stiff shaft

Price: £575.00 / $579.00 RRP
Being a Ping staffer, it's perhaps unsurprising that Corpuz has their newest driver in the bag. The Ping G430 has been a very popular model on Tour this year, and while she isn't the longest with the driver she is incredibly accurate.

This season on the LPGA Tour, Corpuz has ranked 117th for distance, but 7th for driving accuracy - finding the fairway 82.74% of the time. This is very impressive considering she uses the LST head.

What fairway woods does Allisen Corpuz use?

Allisen Corpuz has two Ping G430 Max fairway woods (15° &amp; 18°) with Tour AD IZ-6 SR shafts

Price: £350.00 / $349.99 RRP
Having two fairway woods definitely has its benefits, and Allisen Corpuz takes advantage of this. By having two fairway woods in the bag you have the versatility off the tee and going into greens. Corpuz - like many other professionals - enjoys using Ping fairway woods because they are extremely forgiving and easy to launch. Even the best in the world don't make this game hard!

What hybrid does Allisen Corpuz use?

Allisen Corpuz relies on a Ping G410 4 hybrid (22°) with an Alta CB 70 Slate Stiff shaft

Despite being a few models old, this doesn't matter to Corpuz. She continues to stick by the Ping G410, and why not, she's certainly not struggling with her game at the moment. If it's not broken why fix it?

What irons does Allisen Corpuz use?

Allisen Corpuz has made the switch to the new Ping i230 irons <meta charset="utf-8">(5-PW) with Nippon Modus 105 Stiff shafts

Price: £180.00 / $190.00 RRP (per club)
Unlike Viktor Hovland and Maja Stark, Corpuz has made the switch from the very popular Ping i210 irons to the outstanding Ping i230 irons. Has she made the right decision? Absolutely! This year on the LPGA Tour, Corpuz has found the green in regulation 72.31% of the time - ranking 9th for this metric.

What wedges does Allisen Corpuz use?

Allisen Corpuz opts for Ping Glide 4.0 wedges (50/SS, 54/SS &amp; 58/SS) with Nippon Modus 105 Stiff shafts

Price: £160.00 / $199.00 RRP (per club)
I bet you weren't expecting more Ping clubs in this bag! Obviously, Allisen Corpuz has Ping's most current wedges in her bag. She is very strong with her wedges, especially out of the sand. On Tour this season she has ranked 12th for up and downs from the bunker.

She opts for three wedges that match up seamlessly with her set of irons. All of which have standard bounce for maximum versatility.

What putter does Allisen Corpuz use?

Allisen Corpuz's flat stick is the Ping DS-72 H putter

Corpuz uses the DS-72 H putter, not the DS-72 PLD, which may come as a surprise. PLD is Ping's premium range of putters, but Corpuz is sticking with the 2021 DS-72 H putter. The 2023 US Women's Open Champion is very average on the green, ranking 34th for putters per GIR and 79th for putting average.

What golf balls does Alissen Corpuz use?

Allisen Corpuz reaches for Titleist Pro V1 golf balls

Price: £47.95
Alternative Retailers
Scottsdale Golf
£47.99
American Golf
£47.99
You may have heard of these golf balls before, they are quite popular among professionals and amateurs. Not only are Titleist Pro V1 golf balls the most popular golf balls on Tour, but they are also arguably the best premium golf balls on the market. Therefore, it's hardly a surprise that Corpuz chooses to play with them seeing as though she's free to use whichever golf balls she wants. I'm sure if Ping still made golf balls she would play with them.
