What’s In The Bag: Cheyenne Knight

Today’s Golfer takes a look in the bag of two-time LPGA Tour winner Cheyenne Knight

Jump To: Knight’s WITB

Cheyenne Knight is an American golfer who’s played on the LPGA Tour since 2019. In her five years on the LPGA Tour Knight has claimed two victories and 11 top 20s. Her hard work and strong performances over the past couple of years were rewarded with a victory this year – her first since her rookie season.

Today's Golfer What's In The Bag is brought to you in association with Callaway Chrome Tour and Chrome Tour X golf balls.

The Texan’s victory this season came at the Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational alongside Elizabeth Szokol beating Finland’s Matilda Castren and Malaysia’s Kelly Tan by one stroke (two consecutive years this pair has finished in second). Knight’s form has taken a slight hit in the back end of this season but she found some form for Team USA at the Solheim Cup, getting points from all of her matches.

Knight earned her spot on the Team heading to Finca Cortesin this year, based on performances from this season and last. In the end, the American was chosen as one of Stacy Lewis’ Captain’s picks – a very deserved pick.

This was Knight’s rookie appearance in the Solheim Cup but it might not be too long until we see her in this competition once again. Going into 2024 what equipment does Knight have in the bag?

What’s In The Bag: Cheyenne Knight

What driver does Cheyenne Knight use?

Cheyenne Knight plays with a Callaway with a Matrix Radix S-Series shaft

Price: £229.00 / $229.99
Knight is using a driver from 2021, which isn't majorly old but there are newer models she could switch to. But why would you when you find 80.02% of fairways - only 13 players on the LPGA Tour this season have found the fairway more often.

What fairway wood does Cheyenne Knight use?

Cheyenne Knight has a Titleist TSi2 Fairway Wood with a Fujikura Ventus Red shaft

The main fairway wood in Knight's bag is her Titleist TSi2, she does also carry a Callaway Epic Speed fairway wood, but she doesn't tend to use this as much. The full specs of both of her woods are unknown and once we find out we'll update you with the full specs. Knight tends to use her fairway woods from the fairway a lot more than she does off the tee - when you hit driver as well as she does why would you change it up?

What hybrid does Cheyenne Knight use?

Cheyenne Knight opts for a Titleist TSi2 Hybrid with a Fujikura Ventus Blue 7 Stiff shaft

Price: £249.00 / $259.99 RRP
The number of hybrids in Knight's bag fluctuates between one and two. Both hybrids Knight can be seen with are Titleist TSi2s - the specs of which we don't know for definite but they appear to be 3-iron and 4-iron replacements. Knight is clearly a player who likes hybrids, unlike fellow American, Lexi Thompson.

What irons does Cheyenne Knight use?

Cheyenne Knight has a full set of Callaway Apex 21 Irons with True Temper SteelFiber i70 shafts

Price: £1,099 / $1,295 RRP
Turning back to Callaway for the irons, Knight depends on Apex 21 irons. They aren't your typical Tour player's irons, unlike the Apex TCB, you do get decent forgiveness from these irons and they are more strongly lofted too. We believe Knight carries a set from 5-iron through to pitching wedge (PW) or gap wedge (AW). The 26-year-old's iron play isn't as strong as her driving, and that might be why she has more forgiving heads.

What wedges does Cheyenne Knight use?

Cheyenne Knight plays with Callaway MD5 Jaws Wedges with SteelFiber i70 shafts

£149.00 / $159.99 RRP (per club)
Price: £109.00
Alternative Retailers
Decathlon
£139.99
Once again the American has Callaway clubs in her bag, this time it's her wedges. It appears that she carries just two Callaway MD5 Jaws wedges which makes us believe her iron sets run to gap wedge (AW). Knight plays the same shafts in her wedges as she does in her irons. These wedges don't struggle to generate spin and control, hence why they appear in a few players' bags.

What putter does Cheyenne Knight use?

6

Odyssey O-Works Big T

Cheyenne Knight's flat stick is the Odyssey O-Works Big T

This club has been in Knight's bag for a few years, which tends to be a trend throughout the Texans bag. The Odyssey mallet is clearly a favorite because she doesn't show much sign of change. Knight is a very solid putter ranking in the top 50 on the LPGA Tour for the last two seasons.

This model has been discontinued and Odyssey haven't released a more recent version.

What golf balls does Cheyenne Knight use?

Cheyenne Knight's preference is Titleist Pro V1 Golf Balls

Price: £47.95
Alternative Retailers
Scottsdale Golf
£47.99
American Golf
£47.99
Yet again another golfer who doesn't have a contract with a manufacturer and elects to play with Titleist Pro V1 golf balls - what else would you expect? Pro V1's are without a doubt one of the best premium golf balls on the market, arguably the best with them being the No.1 golf balls on Tour.
