What we say...

Callaway’s Paradym universe continues to expand with the launch of their Star Driver, promising to deliver a Big Bang

Since their explosive arrival in early 2023, Callaway’s Paradym family has elevated the performance of players worldwide from Jon Rahm to competent club golfers, consistently winning best driver plaudits for their game-changing technology.

A new Star has been born, however, and this time it aims to light up the driving capabilities of all club players, with a rocket launcher of a driver, dedicated to more modest club speeds.

Paradym Star brings the unique balance of incredible distance and exceptional forgiveness observed across the current Paradym driver family to those players looking to add a few more MPH to their clubhead speed.

To achieve this, Callaway has reimagined how a Paradym model driver can work for those mid-to-high handicap players who are still seeking game improvements but need to do so without swinging faster.

The solution they settled on – light on weight, heavy on performance – and every facet of the Star driver has been engineered with consistently high launch and easy distance in mind.

In other words, Callaway wants the club itself to put in some of the hard yards for you, and thanks to its premium lightweight components and shrewd weight distribution, the Paradym Star will undoubtedly help players maximize their swing speeds and increase their distance potential.

If you are familiar with other high-launching drivers such as the TaylorMade Stealth HD or Ping G430 SFT then you are not too far away from realizing the performance benefits on offer from the Paradym Star, which we think is bound to establish itself firmly in many of the industry’s upcoming ‘best of’ guides.

Features, Tech, and Benefits

Let’s rip the cover off this driver and see the Star quality that’s hiding underneath:

Lightweight Design

The Star’s overall club weight is a significant 38g lighter than the standard Paradym model which invariably makes the driver easy to swing and will help to generate more ball speed off the face, providing moderate swing speed players with some much-needed extra yards from the tee.

To help keep the weight down, Callaway has prioritized assembling the Star with premium lightweight components including the ATTAS Speed T1100 shaft (just 40g), and a Winn Dri-Tac Lite grip (just 25g).

Weight Distribution

Featuring a 360 carbon chassis, the Star promotes incredible weight distribution which sits low and forward in the face for spin and speed, and rearward for forgiveness. The net result is a long, high, and straight ball flight when connected with properly.

Today’s Golfer Verdict

The driver is available in 10.5° and 12.5° lofts which are unfortunately non-adjustable, meaning this is not the driver for those looking to release a low-spinning, low-launching missle. It is designed to be hit high and straight, with a touch of draw bias which makes working the ball from right to left quite challenging.

This is an easy-swinging driver however, and if you are looking for a touch more clubhead speed without having to exert an increased amount of effort, the Paradym Star will deliver. It’s a high-launching, lightweight rocket of a big stick that we feel is perfectly suited to slightly older players still looking to chip away at their handicaps.

What Callaway says about the Paradym Star Driver

Vice President of Research & Development, Brian Williams said: It’s a very forgiving, very long driver. We still have our Jailbreak A.I. in there, helping produce speed through that forged TI face.

This is our best available driver spec package for those wanting something super-premium, and everything that we can get to help them generate that additional distance.”

Senior Director – Brand Equipment, Dave Neville said: “The total package is around 270-274 grams depending on the shaft you have in there.

I think this is going to be great for players that need more draw bias and launch but want all the best features of Paradym.”
