A third Paradym iron model has arrived from Callaway, promising to be a Star in the making for moderate swing-speed players

Landing alongside the Paradym Star driver, fairway woods, and hybrid, Callaway’s Paradym Star irons complete the full family of clubs designed for those looking to generate more power from their swing.

When searching for the best irons to suit your game, few club players will be put off by the concept of an ultra-premium set engineered with consistently high launch and easy distance in mind.

The Paradym Star irons have been optimized for distance from a powerful lightweight construction, hence why Callaway has coined the tagline – light on weight, heavy on performance.

So, just how has Callaway achieved their goal of creating an easy-swinging, lightweight set of irons that still pack the performance benefits that players expect from premium irons at this price point?

Faster Ball Speeds

The overall club weight is a significant 33g lighter, despite being 1/4″ longer, than the next closest Paradym iron which invariably makes them easier to swing, helping to generate more ball speed and distance potential.

The weight has been kept to a minimum through the use of an ultra-premium ATTAS Speed Series shaft (just 50g) grams, combined with an incredibly comfortable Winn Dri-Tac Lite grip (just 25g).

Higher Launching

The tungsten weighting in these irons has positioned the center of gravity low, enabling increased launch trajectories and peak heights, aided further by the increased loft (30° in the 7-iron) assigned to these irons over other Paradym models.

Exceptional Feel

The Paradym Star irons feature a hollow body design, engineered with patented urethane microspheres, offering players enhanced feel off the high-strength Forged 455 face.

Today’s Golfer Verdict

For a high-launching iron aimed primarily at mid-to-high handicappers, the Paradym Star is perhaps not as forgiving as you might expect, and at $250 per club, might be a reason for less confident ball strikers to consider other more forgiving iron models.

That being said, there is no questioning the appeal of these irons. If you are a consistent ball striker but lack a little clubhead speed, these lightweight irons will deliver straight, high-launching ball flights – shot after shot. They offer an exceptional feel when struck out the middle and look fantastic, particularly with the sleek-looking topline when stood over the ball.

Vice President of Research & Development, Brian Williams said: This is one of those irons where we want them to be able to get it up in the air, get to a peak height, and generate more carry.

Between the lightweight and the CG positioning, we should have a nice recipe here for distance with this player.”
