For decades Bridgestone have been manufacturing golf balls worthy of being played by outstanding Tour players; thanks to their reputation. The Tour B RXS is a wonderful option for those who like to play with the best golf balls but may not have the quickest swing speed.

Among the Tour B family, the Tour B RXS is perhaps the best premium golf ball for golfers with slower swing speeds to get the most out of their game, due to the lower compression core, the technology packed into the ball, and the amazing spin and control.

Key Tech

Technology is certainly not missing from these golf balls. Bridgestone pride themselves on their golf balls which have had much success on Tour and seen them become ever prevalent in the amateur game. The technology included in the Tour B RXS features across all the golf balls in the Tour B family, but what exactly is the technology?

REACTIV iQ

Specific to the Tour B range of golf balls is Bridgestone’s REACTIV iQ; a smart urethane cover technology. This technology reacts to the force of impact which helps to offer more distance off the tee and more spin and control on approach shots.

Gradational Compression Core

The ideal golf ball will fly straight and travel further – something the gradational compression core assists with by reducing side spin and increasing ball speed. This improves the overall performance of the Tour B RXS; making it one of the best golf balls for club golfers.

Dual Dimple Technology

A common feature of Bridgestone golf balls since the early 2010s is the dual dimple technology which has become an integral part of their premium golf balls. This technology enhances aerodynamics, providing extra distance by reducing drag while the balls are in the air.

Who uses Bridgestone Tour B RXS golf balls?

Unlike TaylorMade and Titleist, Bridgestone does not have an array of Tour golfers playing with their balls. Although they do have formidable staffers using their golf balls. The Tour B RXS is not a common ball on any tour but that does not make it an excellent ball which is perhaps more suited to club golfers than any ball manufactured by TaylorMade or Titleist.

The Tour B RXS is the ball of choice for 1992 Masters Champion Fred Couples. “Boom Boom” (named for his long accurate distance in his prime) has been a Bridgestone staffer since 2005 and now plays the Tour B RXS in yellow – uncommon for Tour golf.

Another golfer who plays the Tour B RXS is Wake Forest College star, Emilia Migliaccio, a member of the 2023 NCAA women’s golf national championship.

Which Bridgestone Tour B golf ball should I play?

There are four different balls in the Tour B family, and the majority of golfers will be able to find a suitable option from these four. The Tour B RXS is perhaps the most suited to the average club golfer who wants a premium ball.

The Tour B XRS is ideal for most club golfers because you can still achieve distance with this ball but there is more emphasis on spin and control when approaching greens. Also, these balls are designed for golfers who swing their driver slower than 105mph – most average club golfers will be in this category. If the Tour B RXS works for a former world No.1 they must work for others.

There is another ball manufactured by Bridgestone intended for golfers who swing their driver slower than 105mph. This ball is more distance-orientated and doesn’t spin as much when approaching greens.

Bridgestone offers premium golf balls for those with a driver swing speed quicker than 105mph, the first of which is the Tour B XS. This is the ball of choice for 15-time Major Champion Tiger Woods. This ball is long off the tee with increased spin and control on approach to greens.

Jason Day and Matt Kuchar both play the Bridgestone Tour B X, the other ball aimed at golfers who swing their driver quicker than 105mph. This ball is designed to maximize distance by reducing spin and providing a lower launch. The Tour B XS and Tour B X are competitors to the best premium golf balls.

The RXS didn’t appear among any of our top-performing models in any situation in our robot golf balls test, but it bubbled around the test averages throughout all sessions and, for a higher spin ball, produced surprisingly low levels of wedge spin.

For this cost, we reckon there are better-performing models out there, even if you are after a slightly higher-spinning golf ball.
