The HyperFlex Carbon features a molded carbon fiber power plate that helps with stability, it also offers additional underfoot cushioning with an OrthoLite Impressions FitBed.

The shoes Power Stabiliser outsole ensures that golfers get a secure foundation, partner that with the saddle strap which wraps around the foot and you have a secure fit with plenty of support and control.

FootJoy’s popular StratoFoam cushioning delivers comfort and support tuned specifically for golf. The midsole design provides the perfect blend of cushioning which helps absorb shock while maximizing energy return to reduce foot fatigue.

FootJoy HyperFlex Golf Shoe Review: Our Verdict

First of all, the straight out-of-the-box comfort was great. If you’re after a shoe to take straight on the course I can certainly vouch for these. When I stepped on the first tee it felt as if I’d been wearing HyperFlex for months, at points I forgot I was even wearing them they felt that comfortable.

The HyperFlex was lightweight and fit nice and securely, the sock bootie definitely helped as it wrapped around my foot lovely. The padded heel provided plenty of cushioning and was one of the softest that I’ve had in a golf shoe protecting against rubbing, which I can suffer quite badly from when golfing.

After a few rounds in a new pair of golf shoes, you often notice blisters during the so-called “wearing-in period” The HyperFlex was quite the opposite. With the slightly raised heel providing padding and a secure fit, my foot didn’t move or rub during the rounds at all.

Thanks to the soft spikes the grip was exceptional on the course, but I would say maybe too good. Before my first round, I was on the driving range and struggled to get my feet turning through my swing as they gripped the mat too well, which I thought could have hurt after more and more swinging, however on the course and with some give in the ground they worked wonderfully.

I tried the HyperFlex with the BOA system which you can see above. I’m often not a fan of BOA golf shoes as I’ve found them to be restricting and uncomfortable. So I was very skeptical about these, but I can certainly say they were great. The BOA system is internal and only has a small amount showing where it tightens the strap, I believe this is why I found them to be so secure as the BOA tightens with the straps rather than the laces themselves.

As expected with white golf shoes they tend to get rather dirty especially here in the UK. In general, the shoe was easy to clean on the straps and the front of the shoe, however, the material around the heel was a lot harder to clean and left slight staining from the mud afterward.
