Lyle & Scott are a legendary British company, founded in Scotland in 1874. They have a rich history in golf, producing their first range in the 1960s, and quickly became known as ‘The Original Golf Brand’.

The iconic Golden Eagle logo, inspired by the famous eagle at Gleneagles, coincided with the brand’s move into golf and was soon being worn by the world’s finest golfers.

Jack Nicklaus became the first player to win a Major wearing Lyle & Scott when he lifted the Claret Jug at St Andrews, just an hour away from the brand’s Dunfermline factory, in 1978.

Since then, Greg Norman and Ian Baker-Finch have also added Opens wearing the Golden Eagle, while stars such as Tony Jacklin, Nick Faldo, Sandy Lyle and Lee Westwood have been brand ambassadors down the years.

But it’s not just the Majors where Lyle & Scott have made their name in golf. The brand supplied the team outfits for both the 1981 Ryder Cup and 1982 Hennessey Cup team.
