What we say...
Bridgestone’s golf ball which helps finding fairways with a straighter ball flight
When discussing the best golf balls, it’s very unlikely Bridgestone is left out of the conversation. They manufacture golf balls for players of all abilities and their e12 Contact is one of the best golf balls for beginners and high handicappers.
One of the most important aspects of playing better golf and scoring low is keeping the ball in play. If you have a ball that delivers a straighter ball flight this in turn should mean you lose fewer balls – too good to be true?
The Bridgestone e12 Contact has been designed to do exactly that thanks to the Flexativ cover technology and Contact force dimples combining to provide 46% more surface contact. This helps the ball fly straighter and longer.
The e12 Contact offers good control in the short game but it does lack spin compared to other golf balls in its category.
Key tech
Bridgestone have an outstanding R&D department which strives to produce quality golf balls by including innovative technology. Some of the technology included in the e12 Contact can be found in their premium golf balls while other pieces of technology are specific to this ball. What is the technology featured in the Bridgestone e12 Contact?
Flexativ cover technology
The Flexativ cover technology reacts to the force at impact and helps to deliver increased ball speed and distance in the long game. While in the short game, it provides spin and control.
Contact force dimple
In order to generate more control by increasing contact with the club face, Bridgestone added the Contact force dimple technology to this golf ball.
Active acceleration mantle
The active acceleration mantle provides increased thrust and higher initial velocity at impact while offering a soft feel and enhancing forgiveness. It makes this ball ideal for those who swing a driver slower than 105mph.
Gradational compression core
Factoring in the gradational compression core, this adds to the other technology within the e12 which helps the ball fly straighter by reducing side spin.
What Bridgestone say about the e12 Contact
Adam Rehberg, Bridgestone’s Senior Manager, Ball Fitting and R&D.
“Our engineers have found a way to combine the structural and chemical advantages of Contact Science and put them into one golf ball.
“It’s an impressive achievement in design and manufacturing.”
Elliot Mellow, Bridgestone’s Golf Ball Marketing Manager
“We learned a lot from working on the TOUR B line and were able to apply some similar design features to the new e12 Contact.
“The new ball is about as advanced as anything you can find in the straight-distance category and can provide exceptional speed, longer, straighter shots, and solid short game performance for a wide range of players.”
Bridgestone e12 Contact availability
Bridgestone e12 Contact golf balls are available in four different colors – white, matte yellow, matte green, and matte red. The balls are numbered traditionally from 1 to 4.
You can purchase these golf balls from a number of retailers at an RRP of £29.99/$34.99; a reasonable price for a three-piece golf ball aimed at amateur golfers.
