The best value Nike golf shoes? My Nike Victory Pro 3 Golf Shoes Review

I never struggle to find a pair of Nike golf shoes I like, but I’ve never been so fond of a pair of golf shoes as quickly as I was with the Nike Victory Pro 3 golf shoes. Despite the Nike Victory Pro 3’s not being a top-of-the-range model worn by Tour players I couldn’t speak highly enough of these golf shoes – for me they easily compete with the best golf shoes on the market.

This season I’ve also had the pleasure of wearing the Nike Infinity Tour 2 Golf shoes making me the second-best golfer to wear them – behind Brooks Koepka. Although the Infinity Tour 2’s are more popular amongst Nike athletes, I prefer the Victory Pro 3’s. I’ve given these golf shoes a solid test having worn them for multiple rounds at my home golf club – Cleveland Golf Club – and I even graced the fairways of the Old Course at St Andrews in the Victory Pro 3’s.

Nike Victory Pro 3 Golf Shoes: Sizing, looks and out-of-the-box comfort

I was blown away by how comfortable the Nike Victory Pro 3’s were straight out of the box. As soon as they arrived I took them out of the box, slipped one on, and couldn’t wait to wear them the next time I played. An average round at Cleveland Golf Club usually has me taking between 16,000 and 18,000 steps – depending on how wayward I am or how straight I’m hitting it.

I’ve worn the Victory Pro 3’s on numerous occasions, and the style continues to grow on me the more I wear them with different outfits. One parameter I consider whenever choosing a pair of golf shoes is how many outfits I could wear them with, the importance of that criterion increases with spiked golf shoes – like the Nike Victory Pro 3’s – because you can’t wear them off the course.

The more traditional design of the Victory Pro 3’s lends themselves to be worn with multiple outfits depending on your style on the golf course. I’ve worn these golf shoes with pants, joggers, and shorts, and not once have I thought they didn’t look right with any of those pairings.

When it comes to sizing with Nike footwear, I’m not completely sure whether they fit true to size for me and other brands are bigger or if other brands fit true to size and Nike’s have a smaller fit. I say this because I wear a UK 9/9.5 / US 10/10.5 in almost every other brand of footwear but for some reason, a UK 10 / US 11 is the perfect fit in Nike and it definitely is the perfect fit in the Victory Pro 3’s.

Nike Victory Pro 3 Golf Shoes: On-course performance

The Nike Victory Pro 3’s provide all the support, traction, and stability you’ll need, no matter the conditions you’re playing in. Playing golf in the North East of England I’m accustomed to all kinds of weather, and I haven’t been let down by these golf shoes (yet). If you’re in the market for one of the best spiked pairs of golf shoes then this pair should definitely be on your radar.

With seven spikes on the sole of each shoe, you have ample contact with the ground in dry and wet conditions. The spikes can be removed and replaced which adds to the lifespan of the Victory Pro 3’s. The spikes have been strategically positioned to deliver optimum grip while you walk the fairways and while you take your shots.

Much of the comfort exhibited in the Victory Pro 3’s comes from the combination of the foam midsole and lightweight tongue. The foam midsole creates a cushioned feeling underfoot, and it pads out the shoe to provide necessary support. A lightweight tongue might sound like a gimmick but I’ve worn golf shoes in the past that have a tongue that digs into your foot and it can be extremely uncomfortable. However, that’s far from the case with the Victory Pro 3’s because the tongue almost molds around the top of your foot.

Nike Victory Pro 3 Golf Shoes: Waterproofing

Unlike some of the more premium Nike golf shoes that are sold with a two-year waterproof warranty, the Victory Pro 3s only come as standard with a one-year waterproof warranty. However, given the versatility of these golf shoes you could wear them solid for a whole year, and if they do end up letting water in you would definitely get your money’s worth.

I’ve never had an issue with Nike golf shoes not being waterproof *touch wood* and I would happily wear the Victory Pro 3’s in wet conditions and be safe in the knowledge that my feet would be as dry as they are when I play in the peak of summer.

Nike Victory Pro 3 Golf Shoes: Cleaning

The synthetic leather upper is extremely smooth and it makes for easy cleaning. However, once creases start to appear then they aren’t as easy to clean. I own these golf shoes in the ‘White/Pure Platinum/Black’ colorway, and the entirety of the upper is white, I think considering I’ve worn these golf shoes quite often they still look good and scrub up well.

I’ll let you be the judge if you can see close enough on the image where I’m standing on the Swilican Bridge. When I took these shoes up to St Andrews with me it must have been about the tenth round – to me they still look pretty white.

Nike Victory Pro 3 Golf Shoes: Final Verdict

I appreciate that this style might not be to everyone’s liking, when I first took them out of the box my initial thought was that they look like a traditional dad shoe – kind of like a Nike Monarch – but I quite like a dad shoe even though fatherhood isn’t on the cards for me anytime soon! I digress… The Nike Victory Pro 3 golf shoes are a brilliant option for anyone looking for a spiked pair of golf shoes that rival the best. Being waterproof and at the price they are they are excellent value for money – hence why I rate them higher than the Nike Infinity Tour 2 golf shoes.
