What’s In The Bag: Scottie Scheffler’s Travelers Championship-winning equipment
Published: Last updated:
We take an in-depth look at the golf clubs and ball used by World No.1, two-time Masters champion, multiple PGA Tour winner, and Ryder Cup star, Scottie Scheffler.
Scottie Scheffler is a TaylorMade staff player and his bag is made up mainly of the brand’s latest clubs, including the TaylorMade Qi10 driver – one of the best golf drivers available.
The Texan hadn’t been tied into a brand but signed a multi-year deal with TaylorMade in 2022, having secured his first two PGA Tour victories while using the Stealth Plus driver and P7TW irons at the WM Phoenix Open and the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
The American had been an equipment free agent for most of his career but was known to be a fan of TaylorMade, having used their P730 irons in previous seasons.
The Ryder Cup star also uses TaylorMade’s Qi10 fairway woods, having previously been a long-time user of the Nike VR Pro Ltd 3-wood.
Despite his deal with TaylorMade, Scheffler still plays Titleist Vokey wedges, a Srixon driving iron, and a Titleist Pro V1 golf ball.
Let’s take a closer look at what’s in the bag of Scottie Scheffler.
What driver does Scottie Scheffler use?
Scottie Scheffler uses a TaylorMade Qi10 driver (8°) with Fujikura Ventus Black 7 X shaft.
His average clubhead speed of 119mph is clearly plenty to warrant using the low-spin model, but he prefers the middle-of-the-pack Qi10 standard model.
The Qi10 is the model for golfers who don’t need the all-out forgiveness of the Qi10 Max or want the additional versatility of dialing in shot shape with the weight track on the Qi10 LS.
“Scottie’s feedback when testing all of the Qi10 heads was that he felt the Qi10 standard head was more predictable and more forgiving for him," says Adrian Rietveld, TaylorMade Senior Tour Manager. "When you look at the way the head is set up, he’s correct in that regard just because of where he has weight in the head which produces higher inertia and more forgiveness.”

What fairway wood does Scottie Scheffler use?
Scottie Scheffler uses a TaylorMade Qi10 fairway wood (15°) with a Fujikura Ventus Black 8 X shaft.
What utility iron does Scottie Scheffler use?
Scottie Scheffler uses a Srixon Z U85 utility iron (3-4) with a Nippon N.S. Pro Modus3 Hybrid Prototype 10 X shaft.

What irons does Scottie Scheffler use?
Scottie Scheffler uses TaylorMade P7TW irons (5-PW) with Dynamic Gold Tour Issue X100 shafts.
In addition to featuring tungsten in every head, the new P7TW irons feature fully milled soles for the first time ever in a TaylorMade iron to ensure precision across every set.

What wedges does Scottie Scheffler use?
Scottie Scheffler uses Titleist Vokey SM8 wedges (50°-12F, 56°-14F) plus a Titleist Vokey Design WedgeWorks (60°-T) with True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue S400 shafts.
Vokey inspects the grooves of every wedge leaving their factory, which they say ensures maximum spin. We’re talking fractions but the SM8 was three percent in front of the ZipCore for spin on a full shot, which for some will be a headline-grabbing number.

What putter does Scottie Scheffler use?
Scottie Scheffler uses a TaylorMade Spider Tour X L-Neck putter with a Golf Pride Pro Only grip.
There are current models, but the Spider Tour X L-Neck that Scheffler has in the bag is scarcely available to buy.
His putting has been the only weak part of his game in recent years, regularly seeing him rank first in strokes gained for all other categories but bottom with the flat stick. At the 2023 FedEx St. Jude Championship in Memphis first put a Spider putter in his hand, which led to months of testing different models.
Settling on the Spider Tour X L-Neck putter, the switch paid dividends at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, where a marked improvement helped him to a five-shot victory.
Since putting the mallet putter in his bag, he has only had one round with negative putting strokes gained, and has had six wins in 10 starts in the first 6 months of the year, which hasn't happened on the PGA Tour since Arnold Palmer in 1962. He has also made 121 birdie putts, with seven occasions of 3-or-more birdies in a row.

What ball does Scottie Scheffler use?
Scottie Scheffler uses a Titleist Pro V1 ball
Best premium tour standard golf balls
Both balls are extremely long off the tee and perform incredibly well approaching greens and in the short game. The Pro V1x is a firmer ball compared to the Pro V1 but still provides a lovely feel off every club in the bag. The Pro V1 and Pro V1x are much loved by many of the world's greatest golfers for their overall high-quality performance and feel, which warrants a premium price. To some, this is understandable because they are arguably the best golf balls.
For those golfers who require a lower compression golf ball that flies lower and spins less in the long game, the AVX is definitely worth trying as an alternative to the No.1 ball in golf.
