Today’s Golfer dives into the bag of four-time PGA Tour winner Nick Taylor to find out what equipment the Canadian golfer uses.
Taylor’s perfectly judged 9-iron from the par-3 tee box of the loudest hole in golf sent the raucous WM Phoenix Open crowds into an even wilder frenzy, setting up the first of two birdies required to force a playoff with Charley Hoffman on 21-under par.
Supercharged, the cool-headed Canadian dialed himself in, making birdie at 18 to force the head-to-head shootout. After halving the first extra hole with birdies, Taylor’s third consecutive putt from over 10 feet dropped again, sealing victory on the tournament’s 74th hole.
The Arizona desert is a happy hunting ground for Taylor, who was only usurped by the strokes-gained maestro and World No.1 Scottie Scheffer last time around. It goes to show how Taylor is built for the game’s biggest moments, remaining unfazed by anything outside his control.
Titles at his home RBC Canadian Open in 2023 and AT&T Pebble Beach Open in 2020 are further testament to his ability to shine when the pressure is on and punch well above his previous highest world ranking of No.44.
The win in Scottsdale shoots Taylor up to a career-high 28th in the OGWRs and will hopefully inspire a better run at the Majors in 2024 with T29 at The Masters in 2020 his best performance to date.
Taylor gamed a bag containing 12 Titleist clubs en route to his WM Phoenix Open triumph, including the brand’s new T-Series irons and Vokey SM10 wedges. Between Taylor and Hoffman, there were a total of 26 Titleist clubs competing in the playoff decider.
Taylor’s victory also represented the sixth consecutive win on the PGA Tour for Titleist golf balls. The Pro V1 and Pro V1x, with three wins apiece, are the only balls used by event winners thus far in 2024.

Nick Taylor uses adidas ZG23 golf shoes.
It is a hybrid golf shoe that combines a recycled upper, with a Lightstrike midsole for maximum cushioning and energy return and is brought together with a six-cleat Traxion outsole.
